As fashion weeks around the world ended, we saw a lot of stripes, ruffles and other textures being played with on the runways globally. Also can be found in decor for the home lately. We are seeing it in little trinkets on tabletops and even in printed fabrics. All you have to do to follow this trend but also appreciate it, is throw a sprinkle of a stripped pillow here and a sprinkle of a stripped tray on top of a table with flowers there.

Not too hard, right?

Sometimes it is fun to match your shoes to a chair or table…right? I mean, what’s wrong with bringing some fashion sense not only to your closet but also to your home living space. Honestly, stripes and florals never go out of style and probably never will. Fashion IS a rather large cycle that repeats itself so learning how to work with pieces that won’t break the bank but that also can re-define your space in your home or apartment helps.

Placing stripes with any other texture or pattern almost always works. I suggest NOT mixing with suede, leather or wool but mixing with solid hues and colors works easily. Yellow with stripes looks good, gold or silver trays or just finishings on pillows mixed with a striped couch looks great. You can even mix in a colored striped couch with a solid color painted room or wall. Mixing and matching goes together in a “I didn’t even try” kind of way, when really you secretly googled and googled until you stumbled upon this post about stripes and learned that “HEY! I CAN DO THAT!”  Make a room updated but still fun and chic with stripes. Heck, while you are at it, throw on a striped dress with some red wedges and call it a day! (then pour yourself some champagne you deserve it)

Ways to make your living room beautiful with stripes? No need to fret! Below are ideas with a variety of styles to choose from.
