Celebrity Style: Winter Fashion for the Cold Fashionista

I adore clothes more than most, but I still curl up beneath my blankets on those twenty degree mornings, terrified of the cold that waits for me when my toes hit the cement floor. I still wake up sometimes and feel like i’m being forced to watch, record and rate Glee or clean the dishes or something else equally torturous. When its Winter, my bed is my safe haven but in order to wear the fab clothes that I spend so much time and money on, I of course, have to get out of bed. Call it a dilemma.
That’s when I warm up a mug of hot chocolate while singing I wanna Go in a steaming shower. When i’m not sure what to wear for the winter weather without being mistaken for a cotton ball, I look at other winter outfits that I admire. There are tons of sites and places to find inspiration, even on the harshest of days.  For me, it happens to be t.v.

Reruns of Gossip Girl, that is.

Celebrity Style

One : Long peacoats, thick scarves, leggings and knee highs.
Two: sheering coat, your best jeans, bad ass booties
three: Huge fur (faux or real?) leather leggings, fab sneakers.
I love seeing what the celebrities come up with. They, of all people, cannot leave the house looking like a hot mess on a cold afternoon. (Britney Spears, get it together!) Trend spotting and celeb style is a great way to get some ideas.
Winter essentials
Scarves (cashmere, wool, eternity)
Coats (fur, pea, wool)
hats (pom-pom, beret, snapback, etc)
gloves (leather or cotton, full sleeved or short)
tights (wear with your favorite skirt or under your jeans)
Sweaters (Because what is anything without it)
Boots (knee-high, waterproof, for walking through the snow)
leather (moto jackets, leggings, peplum tops for a night out)
Closed in shoes (because peep toe is not cool for this)
basics (long-sleeved t’s for layering, socks for boots, turtlenecks for under jackets)

What is your favorite winter go-to?

Love the first two of these winter looks!! Scarves are a must for us!! And I just love little knit hats and bright gloves! I’m hoping that winter is on it’s way out here but I think I’m wrong. :-)
