Neiman Marcus Target Holiday Collaboration
Neiman Marcus announced it will be collaborating with Target for this holiday season. Huge news I must say! Target is known to have started the entire low-end collaborations with high-end designers in an effort to bring great designs at affordable prices. Target has previously partnered with designers such as; Jason Wu HERE, Josie Natori (lingerie designer), Anna Sui, and Missoni to much success. But this is just not a one designer deal. This is a department store with multiple high-end designers. A department store where shoes and handbags range in the thousands where as Target has the average price point of $25.
This has never been done before and they are leading the way to the future. Once passé to mix high end with low has been tossed out the window! For the past several years it has been accepted to buy a bag at Gucci and run to places like H&M or Target to buy clothes. Celebrities can be caught doing exactly this and it is no longer frowned upon. Fashion is constantly evolving and precedents are constantly being made and this is definitely one of them.
Here is what CFDA have to say:
“Target and Neiman Marcus are known for charting new terrain, and by joining forces for the holiday season, we’ve set the stage for a redefining moment in retail,” said Gregg Steinhafel, chairman, president and CEO, Target. “This collaboration is unlike anything Target has done before, and we are confident our guests will be thrilled with this extraordinary collection that features some of America’s most preeminent designers.”
“Neiman Marcus and Target share a passion for great design and delighting customers in new and unexpected ways,” said Karen Katz, president and CEO, The Neiman Marcus Group. “We are thrilled to be collaborating to offer a spectacular and special collection of one-of-a- kind items for the holidays. These will be the “must-have” gifts, whether you are a loyal Neiman Marcus customer, a devoted Target guest or a fan of American design.”
“I can think of no better finale to CFDA’s 50th Anniversary celebration than through this extraordinary designer collaboration,” said CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg. “As designers, creativity is our best gift, and with the generous support of Neiman Marcus and Target, we are happy to have created specially designed products as a thank you to share with our consumers and friends.”
