Season one of NBC’s fashion star had its ups and downs but at the end was a success. The show which consist of three mega fashion houses on the judging panel consisting of Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, and H&M and an all star panel of mentors consisting of Nichole Richie (style icon and House of Harlow founder), John Varvatos (Mens wear designer), and Jessica Simpson who people are calling the “billion dollar girl” all come together to find the next best designer.
So as season 2 some surprising news has been announced (but no date scheduled yet but will show on Sunday’s). It includes the departure of supermodel and executive producer Elle Macpherson as host but remaining in a creative manner and H&M exiting the show altogether.
What Elle Macpherson had to say:
“The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved as executive producer where we will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season…Moving forward, I’ll be focusing on building the ‘Fashion Star’ brand in the international market and pursuing various other producing projects close to my heart.”
What H&M had to say:
“H&M is continuously looking for new and unique collaborations and we were thrilled to have partnered with NBC for the first season of Fashion Star. We have decided not to participate in the second season. It was exciting to work with all of the talented people involved including the designers whose winning clothes sold out weekly. We wish Fashion Star success and will be sure to tune in for season two.”
There also have been word that season 2 may not have a host at all and some of the formatting may be changed as well. Guess we are going to have to wait and see.
So do you think changing things so early in the game can hurt Fashion Star?
