The biggest event in fashion held once a year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, is the Costume Institute Gala. The ever so star studded event, often compared to the Oscars, the attendees were all there for the opening of the “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” exhibit.

Every year I look forward to see what everyone is wearing because this is an event where you wear dresses you normally wouldn’t wear out at other events. Let’s take Beyonce (my favorite by the way) where else would you get to wear a stunning dramatic gown like that other than the Oscars? I am such a girly girl and imagine myself in gowns like that and then I wake up because I come to the realization that I have no where to wear it to:(

This year there were definitely trends that were easily defined. Colors, colors, colors! you can also see the Peplum Trend, which I previously wrote about {here}

Then there were the misses I did not include which included Marc Jacobs in a lace dress.  Hey I’m all being different, doing your own thing, and testing boundaries, but in my opinion it was done all wrong:(  Terrible because I love and respect him as a designer.

Well enjoy the fab looks of the evening!
